Eliza Harris CPsychol AFBPsS Associate Coaching Psychologist & Naturopathic Herbalist
Eliza has been a practicing psychologist for 30 years and is registered as both a Chartered Forensic and Chartered Coaching Psychologist with the British Psychological Society; she has held Associate Fellow status for 25 years. Eliza has worked as a Coaching Psychologist for over 15 years, having completed her initial training with the Centre for Coaching. Her coaching experience has included: working with senior managers within organisations; delivering coaching contracts within public and charity sectors; and engaging directly with individuals through her own coaching practice.
Eliza has additionally undertaken an extended training pathway (5 years, including 500 clinical hours) in herbal medicine and naturopathy, and holds full membership with the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP). She is passionate about supporting holistic wellbeing by combining conventional coaching psychology with holistic herbal medicine and/or naturopathic principles, and regards herself as a ‘naturopathic coaching psychologist’. Drawing from core principles of naturopathy and coaching psychology, Eliza’s approach to supporting wellbeing is to identify and address a range of relevant factors contributing to disharmony (physical, psychological, emotional) rather than purely focusing on short-term symptom-management. Based on her experience of working with a range of people, Eliza has often observed how the pace and demands associated with modern societal pressure correlate with elevated stress and an ever-growing disconnect with our natural world. This has often become a focus of coaching conversations, alongside other salient areas identified through the application of coaching psychology.
Eliza is fully qualified and insured to safely dispense bespoke herbal tinctures with clients keen to incorporate the healing power of nature within their holistic approach to change and wellbeing. She has focused her herbalist training on adaptogenic, nervine and hypnotic herbs to compliment her work as a psychologist, given how these support the body in responding to elevated stress and assist in stress-related difficulties (e.g. insomnia, a sense of ‘burn out’).
Eliza practices in full compliance with codes of conduct linked to both HCPC and ANP standards. She is committed to providing a unique experience of coaching psychology that accords with Aspen Psychology Service’s vision of providing supportive reflective spaces that allow people to identify areas for development, draw upon their strengths, and achieve enhanced wellbeing.
