Core Educational Psychology Services

Picture
We provide core educational psychology services (consultation and assessment) to schools and families to help you make a positive difference to children and young people.  Our work can apply to children and young people across the age range 0-25, and aims to support you to:

  • Identify individual strengths and needs.
  • Develop psychology-informed intervention plans.
  • Gather evidence to inform relevant surrounding processes (e.g. requests for Education, Health & Care Plans, requests for Top-Up Funding, Annual Reviews, provision-planning, Examinations Access Arrangements applications, Disabled Student's Allowance applications).
"The format of meetings is always clear so it is easy to make arrangements with parents and teachers alike.  There is the opportunity for all to contribute to ensure we are all working together along the right path.  There is also understanding of the pressures that teachers and schools are under when recommending next steps.  APS is a good team.  I would be happy to work with any of you." - Primary School Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator.
"APS have worked with us since September 2013.  They work with our Inclusion teams, SENCos and families, providing high-quality advice and guidance.  They have extensive knowledge of Special Educational Needs and a thorough understanding of the Code of Practice.  SENCos value their relationship with APS because they know their work will always be of the highest standard.  I highly recommend APS because they listen to all parties: the school, the children, and their families.  They put the child at the centre of all they do, whilst supporting schools in a professional yet caring way." - Executive Principal of a Multi-Academy Trust.
"[The report] was spot on.  [My son]'s needs were acknowledged and he was registered with DSA.  He got a laptop and software to help with his processing and is in his final year at University." - Parent.
